AMH Vision Statement

‘’A community in which people with mental health needs or learning disability are valued and empowered to achieve their full potential’’

AMH MensSana, meaning ‘healthy mind’ was established by Action Mental Health in December 2002.  The project operates across the Southern Area. MensSana’s aim is to support young people and their key contacts in the area of mental and emotional well being, through a range of activities in order to help promote awareness and understanding of mental health issues and challenge the stigma and misconceptions.

AMH MensSana work in close partnership with schools, colleges, local media and other agencies to promote positive mental health amongst young people, through the delivery of workshops, provision of information and development of resources.  The project also operates a signposting service, providing a valuable point of contact and source of support for parents and others concerned about a young person’s mental health.  A core aim of AMH MensSana’s work is to raise awareness of mental health issues and to promote early intervention when problems arise, in order to prevent the development of more severe and enduring mental ill health.
