Protect Life:
Many factors can have a negative impact on young people’s mental health. Some of the more common factors are:

- Bullying

- Peer Pressure - related to drugs, alcohol, sex etc

- Concerns about personal appearance

- Pressure related to academic/school work

- Family problems

If worries like these are not recognised and dealt with in the early stages, they can build up and develop into more severe and enduring mental health problems. Part of MensSana’s work is to encourage early intervention and prompt access to supportive services.

You will find a list of some organisations that offer support in relation to young people’s mental health on this website (‘sources of support’) should you require any further information on available services in relation to mental health, suicide or self harm contact staff or alternatively contact your local resource centre.

AMH Menssana received part funding from the southern HSCT as a protect life resource centre to work with the community to provide information, support  and signposting for suicide ans self harm related issues.
